The Schladminger Tauern mountains and the area around Ramsau am Dachstein are an unmatched hiking paradise in the Austrian province of Styria. Around 1,000 km of marked trails lead to tranquil mountain lakes, thundering waterfalls and deep gorges, scenic alpine pastures, mountain huts, and peaks reaching nearly 3,000 meters above sea level. Alpinists and climbers definitely find what they are looking for on the Dachstein – where they will encounter the legendary south face as well as a wide range of via ferrata routes spanning all levels of difficulty.
